Many people with gastritis do not have any symptoms. However, many generally have certain symptoms; they are:

  • Appetite loss
  • Feel fullness even with few bites of food.
  • Bloating
  • Nausea
  • Belching or vomiting
  • Dull, vague, burning, aching, gnawing, sore, or sharp pain is in the upper abdominal area.
  • Unexplained weight loss

If the gastritis progressed to erosive gastritis with bleeding, then the severe symptoms of gastritis are:

  • Black colored stool
  • Vomiting with blood or grounded-coffee like material
